Fe - Iron - TRANSITION METAL

Iron is a chemical element with symbol Fe and atomic number 26. It is the fourth most abundant chemical element in the earth's crust and the second most abundant in the human body.

Iron is a soft and durable white-gray metal. It is harder than copper, but is more malleable and easier to work with.

Iron is most often found in its “iron” form in nature, but it is also produced as “pure iron”. Iron is used to make tools and weapons, as well as useful metal parts for many applications, including support structures, vehicles, and the building world.

Iron is also very important for the human body. It is necessary for the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen in the blood. Iron deficiency can lead to anemia, a condition characterized by weakness and fatigue.

Iron is also necessary for healthy growth and for the prevention of certain diseases. Iron-rich foods include beef, beans, almonds, and spinach. Iron supplements should be taken with caution and are usually only prescribed for people with anemia.
