The microcline crystallizes in the triclinic system, which means it has three different crystal axes and different angles between them. It usually occurs as elongated prismatic crystals, often with ridged faces. The crystals can be transparent to opaque and their color varies from white, gray, pink to red.
Microcline is a relatively hard mineral, with a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale. It has an average density of 2.5 g/cm3 and an uneven to conchoidal fracture. It is insoluble in water and does not react with acids.
Microcline is often associated with other minerals in igneous rocks, such as quartz, muscovite and biotite. It is also used as a gemstone, but its relatively low hardness makes it less scratch resistant than other gemstones.
Finally, the microcline can exhibit an optical peculiarity called “adularescence,” which is an internal light reflection that creates a blue or white glow on the surface of the mineral when cut into a cabochon. This characteristic is often seen in gemstones called “Labradorite”.
Microline is considered a very powerful mineral for lithotherapy and is recognized for its protective, spiritual and healing properties. It's a great way to provide people with the spiritual protection they need from the negative vibes and strange energies they may be subject to.
In lithotherapy, microline is said to provide a deep spiritual connection and help balance the flow of energy in the body and mind. It is also said to be very useful for spiritual and meditative work, as it is able to retain information and convey it in a way that enhances clarity of visions and thoughts.
Finally, microline quartz is considered an excellent lucky charm that helps maintain a healthy balance between body and mind and allows people to connect with their inner being. It offers spiritual protection and helps support soul vibrations.
