Linarite - Natural minerals and crystals

Linarite is a secondary mineral that typically occurs as monoclinic blue crystals, often in lamellar aggregates or ground masses. Its bright blue color, due to the presence of copper, is one of its most distinctive characteristics. It is usually found in oxidized areas of lead and copper deposits, where it forms through the weathering of galena and chalcopyrite. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 2.5, which means it is relatively soft. Due to its rarity and beautiful color, linarite is often sought after by mineral collectors.
