Ametrine - Natural minerals and crystals
Ametrine is a variety of quartz, it is not a variety of amethyst but a mixture between citrine and amethyst, hence its name which is a mixture of these two names. Ametrine deposits are rather rare, the most abundant are found in Bolivia, in particular from the Anahi mine. Ametrine is exploited commercially especially for the creation of jewelry. Its particularity for the finest specimens is to present two shades: purple and yellow.
