Sulfur - Natural minerals and crystals

Sulfur is the chemical element with atomic number 16, symbol S. It is a member of the chalcogen group. It is an abundant, tasteless, water-insoluble, multivalent nonmetal. sulfur is best known in the form of yellow crystals and is found in many minerals (sulphide and sulphate) and even in native form, particularly in volcanic regions. Most of the sulfur mined is however of sedimentary origin. It is an essential element for all living beings; it is involved in the formula of two natural amino acids, cysteine and methionine and, therefore, in many proteins. © Wikipedia
