Manganite - Natural minerals and crystals

Manganese is a mineral species composed of hydroxylated manganese oxide with the formula MnO (OH). It is the most common of these manganese hydroxides. The mineral contains 89.7% manganese sesquioxide. It dissolves in hydrochloric acid with release of chlorine. Formed at low temperatures in hydrothermal manganese deposits or hot springs.
