Kunzite - Natural minerals and crystals

Kunzite is a variety of spodumene belonging to the silicate family. Discovered in California, kunzite takes its name from the first mineralogist who identified it: George Kunz. It is often pink in color, the intensity of which depends on its manganese content. Kunzite is vulnerable to contact with heat, its hue becomes more vivid when exposed to it. The most important deposits are in Brazil. More refined quality stones are found in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Madagascar.
