Orthoclase, also known as potassium feldspar, is a mineral from the tectosilicate family, composed of potassium, aluminum, silicon and oxygen. Orthoclase generally appears as translucent to opaque crystals, white to gray in color, sometimes tinged pink or yellow due to impurities.
