Serpentine - Natural minerals and crystals

Serpentine is a variety of diaphanite ore, commonly found in bedrock or sedimentary raw rocks and minerals">rocks. Serpentine is a green metamorphic rock and metamorphic glass is commonly used to produce the kind of glass found in telescopes, microscopes and optical instruments. It forms when diaphanite is metamorphosed by pressure and temperature. Serpentine is usually found in the form of lamellae or large crystals. Serpentine is composed of magnesium, silicon and oxygen. It is commonly found in volcanic regions close to tectonic plates. It is also found in sedimentary raw rocks and minerals">rocks which are rich in sedimentary ore. Serpentine is known for its light green color and is commonly used for jewelry design. It is also used to produce industrial products such as insulation boards, thermal insulation systems, sealing products and floor tiles. Serpentine is also used for the manufacture of certain herbal medicines, cosmetics and deodorant products.
