Orthoceras are extinct cephalopod mollusks, belonging to a group that is now extinct. These marine creatures lived in the oceans several hundred million years ago, mainly during the Ordovician and Silurian periods. Their name, which means "straight horn" in Greek, refers to the characteristic shape of their conical and elongated shell. This shell was divided into chambers, separated by partitions, and crossed by a siphon.

The Orthoceras shell is perhaps their most distinctive feature. It was made of Aragonite, a mineral that also forms the shells of many modern mollusks. Over time, and through geological processes such as sedimentation and mineralization, these shells fossilized, giving rise to the specimens we admire today.

Orthoceras Fossils are valuable witnesses to marine life from a bygone era. Their study allows scientists to reconstruct ancient ecosystems, understand the evolution of species and better understand the major changes that have marked the history of the Earth.

Deposits :
The main deposits of Orthoceras are found in Morocco, Canada, Estonia, United States, Russia, Sweden...

MULADHARA
Root Chakra
Orthoceras, in lithotherapy, is a fossilized stone known for its anchoring and stabilizing properties. It is therefore ideally associated with the Root Chakra, also called Muladhara, which is the basic energy center, linked to our feeling of security and stability. Orthoceras, thanks to its deep earth energy, helps to strengthen and balance the Root Chakra. It promotes anchoring to the Earth, helps to dispel fears and insecurities, and contributes to a general feeling of well-being and self-confidence. Additionally, it helps release negative energies and promote regeneration, which is in perfect harmony with the functions of the Root Chakra. Working together, the Orthoceras and Root Chakra can help create a sense of security and stability, while promoting personal growth and spiritual development.
